Paid Social & Digital Static Templates

Automation

All Paid Social & Digital Static specs in the PSD templates are in the process of been automated. Automation combines significant media buying & creative benefits: increasing engagement and ensuring consistency while also reducing the amount of time/deliverables required.

Paid Social & Digital ads (which are not delivered as final JPGs) will be able to be automated via tech partners managed by local growth marketing teams. Each region should establish its own automation workflow through these teams or their own tech publishing partners.

Templates

IP and Brand ad templates are provided and allow for a fixed amount of variation. For global consistency, please avoid repositioning/scaling elements or adding additional information; exceptions may be made for bespoke global campaigns or by consulting the global brand & creative team via the contact page.

Each template file includes all specs used globally. To add a new spec to the manual and automated templates please submit a request via the contact page.

Very small spec sizes can reduce the logomark to just the icon and do not include the button/CTA, T&Cs, text or discovery+ Original line. In automated assets long T&Cs expand from a rollover.

Patch, Generic Text Titles & Buttons

On IP ads the preference is for full bleed imagery with no patch. Key art and imagery should be directed/chosen with this in mind; ensuring there is enough contrast for the information to be legible. For automated ads it is the responsibility of the regional teams to ensure the image bases they deliver provide sufficient contrast. If this cannot be achieved with the available assets the secondary option is to include the IP Patch; a gradient fade from transparent to one of the 10 brand colors. The patch color should be chosen to best compliment the image and title treatment.

Brand ads use the Brand Patch; a straight-edged dark blue block.

Title treatments are always preferred to represent IP in all formats and placements. Generic text titles are provided for use only when the title treatment asset is not available. Static generic text on the dark blue background is filled with the brand fill texture. All animated text and static text on all other background colors is white.

The button is a white lozenge with rounded ends and knock-out text. Do not use any other button styles.

Using The Templates

To get the most out of the PSD templates please familiarize yourself with the Toolkit Features – Templates section, and follow the ‘deep dive’ Training Video – Creating Final Static Ads & Deliverables for Automation.

WHY USE THE TEMPLATES?

For automated ads, the PSD templates can be used to preview how the image deliverables will look in the final ads so you can easily see if you need to make any adjustments before populating the feed. By using the PSD template you will ensure that:
– Images appear in the correct position on all formats
– Information can be read clearly
– Image weight isn’t exceeding 1MB

Animation

Animation increases engagement by catching the viewers attention and allows you to showcase more imagery and messaging. Automated ads will also have the option to animate in several different ways:

The static templates are designed for generic IP and Brand marketing. These templates can also be used as the basis for bespoke creative. Please make sure the use of core graphic brand elements (logo, button & spectrum bar) is consistent with the templates.
